2. Faith: the seal of our covenant with our Lord Jesus

When the Lord promises us something, that promise is settled only at the moment of our signature of the contract attesting of our agreement.

Indeed, by giving faith to what God promises us – our faith is our signature – it is at that very moment that God marks that promise with HIS seal – His own signature. The promise is then sealed/acted with the agreement of both parts.

If we do not « sign », God do not settle or seal the promise neither.

The Bible is full of examples of men and women who, at the moment of their healings, deliverances or even resurrections, would hear commentaries from The Lord Jesus about their faith. That is why He would say to some of them: « Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole! »

Mark 10: 51-52

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Besides, when we ask something to God with faith or simply when we deeply believe Him to be capable of doing miracles in our lives, and above all, if it is HIS will, He will grant it to us.

 Matthew 9: 20-22

20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Abraham, called « the father of faith », teaches us a lot through his testimony in life:

Hebrews 11: 8-12

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Thus, let us have faith in Our Lord Jesus and in His Word, because without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6). Let us never be discouraged by anyone nor by anything and let us keep this word in our heart, according to which it is written that God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Num 23 :19)

Hebrews 11 : 5-6

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

James 1 : 2-8

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Alleluia !

May all glory be given to Jesus, The Lord of lords, The King of kings!
